On 9/15/07 a meeting was held to form an association. Everyone was in favor of it.
Rocco got up and held an election of officers:
President, Steve Jennison
Vice President, Tom Guillory
Committee members, Jim O'Neil, Jim Tuohy,and Rocco Valvano
An annual dues of $20.00 was agreed
Steve Jennison will stay on as treasure for now.
After much discussion on wording the association to include Corrections.
USNDC Marine Detachment Association was picked as the name of the organization.
Other stuff agreed to;
For next year's 100 anniversary of the castle Portsmouth will be our next reunion site.
Steve will get us another block of rooms.
$100.00 will be donated to the Shipyard museum for their help during the reunion.
Jim Tuohy will talk to the National museum at Quantico about the castle.
Rocco will put out a letter to congressmen and senators about the prison.
Tom Guillory will get a new web site started.
Jim O'Neil will work on the By Laws for the association
The meeting was closed, then Nick awarded Rocco with a gift.
